- Highlights of upcoming opportunities and capability gaps
- Featured Presentation: Sim McIver, Domestic Marketing Assistant Director, NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. McIver will provide an overview of NCDA’s mission, structure, and key programs that assist businesses with product readiness, market access, and growth opportunities. Attendees will hear how NCDA supports food and agribusiness as they enter or expand within commercial and military markets, including commissaries and the military exchange system.
- Business Spotlight: Gina Peoples, Blue Mountain Distributors. Blue Mountain Distributors, based in Hendersonville, NC, is a family-owned and operated company specializing in local, specialty, and perishable food products. The company supplies a wide range of retail outlets and major grocery chains throughout the Southeast and was recently awarded a contract with the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). As part of this contract, Blue Mountain will provide products to the Fort Bragg commissary. In this session, Gina Peoples from Blue Mountain will discuss their journey and provide insights regarding the process of becoming a vendor with DeCA.
