Nearly Sold Out Southeast Region Federal Construction, Infrastructure and Environmental Summit to Connect Business, Military and Federal Opportunities

WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA (APRIL 10). The Offices of US Senator Thom Tillis and US Senator Ted Budd and the North Carolina Military Business Center are pleased to announce the Southeast Regional Federal Construction, Infrastructure & Environment Summit on April 16-18, 2024 in Wilmington, North Carolina.

“The Summit” brings together over 800 representatives of the Corps of Engineers, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Fort Liberty, Marine Corps Installations East, Seymour Johnson AFB, other Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps installations, US Coast Guard, Department of Veterans Affairs, General Services Administration, other federal agencies and infrastructure-related businesses from throughout the Southeast and across the country.  

“Businesses in or capable of performing in the federal construction, infrastructure, energy and environmental marketplace should participate in the Summit,” said Scott Dorney, Executive Director, NCMBC.  “All federal agencies that build in the Southeast will attend, present their programs and seek to build relationships with current and future contractors and their teaming partners.”  

The Summit is the premier, best-established and most-recognized federal construction event in the Southeast.  Businesses who are already engaged or want to perform in the federal market should attend. Attendance is encouraged for the following types of businesses of all sizes that work or can work in VA, NC, SC, GA, FL and the Gulf Coast: general and specialty contractors; architecture and engineering firms; construction supply firms; companies that provide facility support and maintenance services; businesses that provide energy and environmental services; businesses that provide construction and design contractor support services (legal, accounting, bonding, lending, etc.); and current federal contractors seeking teaming partners, subcontractors and suppliers.

Following the Summit conclusion on April 18th, base commanders from all the installations in North Carolina will host the North Carolina Installation Innovation and Modernization (NCI2M) Symposium.  The inaugural NCI2M focuses on Utility Infrastructure, Facility Modernization and Quality of Life in North Carolina. The purpose is to facilitate discussions, knowledge sharing and collaboration -government to government, business to business and government to business – that advances innovative solutions to the challenges encountered in providing installation services and facilities management.

NCI2M sessions include: 
Utility System Modernization the SMART Way. Panel members will discuss and explore the challenges in building modern and resilient utility infrastructure that is optimized, reliable and enables real-time monitoring of new or existing utility infrastructure. 

Facility Modernization / Maintenance and SMART Technologies. Panel members will discuss the challenges of modernizing facilities using advanced building methods that enhance occupant quality of life, enables efficient utilization of resources using real-time data analytics, and minimizes waste, contributing to a greener and more environmentally responsible future. 

NC A&T Project Presentation. North Carolina Innovation Ecosystem. Students from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical (NC A&T) University will present their findings on phase I of the North Carolina Innovation Ecosystem Project.
